Tentaka Shuzo Co Ltd
Tentaka Shuzo – Sake Rooted in the Soil
Founded in 1914 in Ohtawara, Tochigi, Tentaka Shuzo has built its identity around a simple conviction: great sake begins with great ingredients.
For generations, the brewery has remained committed to dry sake, following the founder’s philosophy that sake should be crisp, food-friendly and never tiring to drink. But Tentaka’s connection to its ingredients goes far beyond the brewery itself. Working with local farmers — and through its own organic farming company — Tentaka is increasingly involved in growing the rice that becomes its sake.
Set among the fertile rice fields of northern Tochigi, the brewery benefits from clean groundwater fed by the Nasu mountains. Rice, water and climate come together to create sake with a clear sense of place.
Tentaka combines this strong connection to the land with modern technology and internationally certified organic brewing, proving that tradition and sustainability can move forward together.
From the soil to the sake. Naturally Tentaka.
