Yamaguchi Sake Brewery – The Sake of Another Cup
Founded in 1832 in Kurume, Fukuoka, Yamaguchi Sake Brewery has been crafting sake for nearly two centuries. Its signature brand, Niwa no Uguisu, takes its name from an old story of bush warblers visiting the family garden to drink from its pure spring water.
That connection to water remains at the heart of the brewery today. Using water from the Chikugo River and carefully selected rice from Fukuoka, Yamaguchi creates sake that is clean, lively and made above all for enjoyment at the table.
The brewery’s philosophy is beautifully simple: to make sake that makes you want another cup. Rather than pursuing sake only as a luxury product, Yamaguchi focuses on balance, freshness and drinkability — sake that naturally invites another sip and works effortlessly with food.
More than 190 years after its founding, the brewery continues to combine family tradition with a willingness to explore new expressions of sake.
Pure water. Fine rice. One more cup.
