Suehiro Sake Brewery – The Spirit of Aizu
Founded in 1850 in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, Suehiro Sake Brewery has been crafting sake for more than 170 years, deeply rooted in the culture and landscape of Aizu.
At the heart of Suehiro is a simple philosophy: authentic local sake should be made with local rice, local water and the craftsmanship of Aizu Toji. Rice is sourced from farmers in the region, while the brewery draws on pure underground and mountain water shaped by the surrounding landscape.
Suehiro brings together two very different brewing environments. The historic Kaeigura preserves traditional handcraft and the atmosphere of the brewery’s origins, while the modern Hakasegura combines advanced facilities with the same commitment to quality.
Traditional methods such as Yamahai remain an important part of the portfolio, alongside a continuing search for new expressions of what Aizu sake can be.
For Suehiro, tradition is not about standing still. It is about understanding where you come from — and carrying that spirit forward.
Since 1850. The spirit of Aizu.
