Founded in 1949 in Tomigusuku, Okinawa, Chuko Distillery is dedicated to preserving and evolving the unique tradition of Ryukyu Awamori. Made from rice and black koji, Awamori is Okinawa’s distinctive spirit, with a history stretching back more than 600 years.
What makes Chuko truly unique is its commitment to traditional maturation. Since 1989, the distillery has crafted its own unglazed clay vessels, allowing its Awamori to develop depth and character through long aging.
Blending heritage, craftsmanship and innovation, Chuko Distillery embodies the spirit of Okinawa — creating remarkable Awamori for a new generation.
